I took and passed the Google AI Essentials Coursera course and received my certificate. If you would like this certificate, you too can get it for $49 which includes the class and the certificate upon completion.
What you’ll learn
- Use generative AI tools to help develop ideas and content, make more informed decisions, and speed up daily work tasks
- Write clear and specific prompts to get the output you want - you’ll apply prompting techniques to help summarize, create tag lines, and more
- Use AI responsibly by identifying AI’s potential biases and avoiding harm
- Develop strategies to stay up-to-date in the emerging landscape of AI
What I learned
I found the course to be informative for beginners. I have been diving pretty deep in AI technologies recently, so most of this course reaffirmed much of the knowledge I already knew. I think the most valuable parts of the course are how to formulate useful prompts, prompt-chaining to get to better results, how to evaluate new AI tools, and how to keep up with AI technologies.
I learned what a “shot” is in the prompt and a “few shot” prompt. Basically, “shots” are just examples that you provide the LLM.
Example of a “few shot” prompt.
You're a concert promoter specializing in raising ticket sales in the alternative rock music industry. Create a social media post about an upcoming music festival that speaks to the local music community while attracting out-of-state festival-goers. Limit the post to 125-characters. Include 5 relevant hashtags. The local audience is primarily college students and young professionals (age 21-35) who follow indie rock. The festival features 12 bands over 2 days, with camping options and local food vendors.
Here are examples of successful posts from similar events:
Example 1: Where mountains meet music: Indie Rocks Festival returns! Your favorite local bands + national acts. Good eats & Sleep under the stars! #Indie Rocks #SupportLocalMusic
Example 2: Join Indie Fest under the desert skies! 2 nights of raw sound 2 move you + camping vibes #RoadTrip #CampLife #RockOn
